Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to the market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2023, DMCC has been named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record ninth consecutive year.

Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working across 87 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project; the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.

Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).

The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016. Mr Bin Sulayem was reappointed Chair of the KP for a historic second time in 2024, and has continued his leadership role with the position of Custodian Chair in 2025.

An advocate for sustainability and inclusivity, Feryal is a committed member of the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) committee, established by UN Global Compact and UN Women. She leads DMCC’s comprehensive sustainability programmes and actively contributes to a number of semi-governmental boards across the UAE.

Feryal holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the American University of Sharjah and an Executive MBA from Harvard University.

Abdulaziz Alnuaimi currently serves as the Assistant Undersecretary of the Commercial Affairs Regulatory Sector in the UAE’s Ministry of Economy. In this role, he overlooks the strategic and operational aspects of the sector, deploying both legislative and non- legislative tools to spur the country’s economic growth in line with the leadership’s vision and directives.

Prior to joining the Ministry, Abdulaziz contributed to the investments for the UAE sovereign fund through event-driven strategies such as activism and M&A arbitrage, in addition to various other alternatives assets. He later joined a private office where he helped operate high tech and competitive intelligence applications. His expertise focuses on operational strategies for scale and growth, toward shareholder value creation, as well as establishing strategic partnerships between government and private sectors in various domains.

Alnuaimi has also served as the director of a Boston-based satellite company ‘Analytical Space’; the vice president of Harvard Club; and a higher committee member of Mubadala’ s Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit “GMIS”, in addition to serving as the managing partner of the strategic partnerships and alliances firm ‘Picture Advisors.’ At the moment, he is the chairperson of Harvard Business School Alumni Angels Association of the GCC.

Dan has worked as editor and publisher of Tea Magazine and as editor and publisher of World Tea News (2010-2020), managing editor of STiR Coffee and Tea Magazine, editor-in-chief of Specialty Coffee Retailer, and founding editor of Natural Food Magazine (San Francisco). He led the successful crowdfunding of Tea Journey Magazine in 2016. As Managing Trustee of the MJF Foundation and Director of Dilmah Conservation, he ensures that a minimum of 15% of pre-tax profits are invested in humanitarian and environmental initiatives. These entities directly serve underprivileged communities and fragile ecosystems, employing over 300 people in programs that promote dignity, inclusion, education, and biodiversity restoration.

He leads the Climate Action Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Executive Council of the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network. Dan has worked as editor and publisher of Tea Magazine and as editor and publisher of World Tea News (2010-2020), managing editor of STiR Coffee and Tea Magazine, editor-in-chief of Specialty Coffee Retailer, and founding editor of Natural Food Magazine (San Francisco). He led the successful crowdfunding of Tea Journey Magazine in 2016. As Managing Trustee of the MJF Foundation and Director of Dilmah Conservation, he ensures that a minimum of 15% of pre-tax profits are invested in humanitarian and environmental initiatives. These entities directly serve underprivileged communities and fragile ecosystems, employing over 300 people in programs that promote dignity, inclusion, education, and biodiversity restoration.

Dilhan chairs Biodiversity Sri Lanka and the Global Compact Network Sri Lanka. He leads the Climate Action Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Executive Council of the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network. In 2024, he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Practice in Sustainability at Edith Cowan University, Australia. Having trained in Contemporary Tea in Kolkata, Sanjay came to Dubai in 1991, trading in tea for DXB General and launched Leone Tea, a leading brand in the UAE. Having trained in Contemporary Tea in Kolkata, Sanjay came to Dubai in 1991, trading in tea for DXB General and launched Leone Tea, a leading brand in the UAE. Successfully built & ran his own business Sherwood FZE for tea blending & packing and developed extensive knowledge of teas from all origins and interacted with regional & international buyers.

Sanjay successfully built and developed the business of the Dubai Tea Trading Centre (DTTC), presently termed as DMCC Tea Centre.

Wouter Verelst lived and worked with his family in Malawi for 7 years. About 10 years ago he returned back to Belgium to set up the Satemwa Europe direct trade office close to Antwerp in Belgium.

Wouter keeps close relations with different international tea education programs to educate tea professionals about quality tea and herbals from Malawi & Africa. Wouter works with existing and future direct trade partners to set up new and maintain existing tailormade tea projects. Part of that also involves a lot of logistics to make the Satemwa teas & herbals easily accessible and available through our fresh stock in Europe.

When he is not sitting behind his little desk in Antwerp, or shuffling around in the Satemwa warehouse close to Antwerp port he is promoting Satemwa & African teas during international trade shows and fairs around the world. Or he is in Malawi guiding another Malawi Tea Education tour.

Wouter has a background in sales & marketing with some multinational FMCG companies. He has a master in International Relations from the University of Antwerp (Dutch) and a Master in Economics from the University of Louvain La Neuve (French) in Belgium.
